ITB is the largest tourism trade fair in the world. A driving force in the travel industry, which is open to both trade and public visitors, it provides a valuable opportunity for participating tourism companies to network, negotiate and exchange vital contracts with the influential tour operators and travel agents in attendance. It attracts some 200,000 visitors each year, from 186 countries across the world. Of these, about 115,000 are trade visitors, including leading tour operators, travel agents, airlines, travel media and bloggers, not just from Germany but from all over the world.
This is the place to be if you want to meet with Tour Operators programming North Western Europe. ITB is essentially a platform for refreshing existing business contacts, for networking and to gain new contacts (provided one has made appointments well ahead of the fair). To get a real benefit from ITB, industry partners need to have a lot of preparatory work done prior to arriving in Berlin. It is advisable to make appointments with tour operators in advance to get the most out of the show. Please note that the trade days (Wednesday to Friday) are suitable only for Industry partners interested in working with tour operators. Please also be aware there will be a second Ireland stand in the ADVENTURE hall 4, which may be more suitable for activity providers.
The stand is 170sqm, divided into a business meetings/trade area
and an information/consumer area
. From Wednesday to Friday the stand is primarily designed for business to business meetings only and the fair and stand opens to consumers on Saturday and Sunday. Industry partners should indicate on the application form if they'd prefer a table in trade area or 1 place at the counter in the consumer area.
The information/consumer area is at the front of the stand and companies will be sharing a counter which runs the length of the stand. The business meetings/trade area is closed off inside the stand and visitors must present themselves to the reception desk before entering. Only 20
business meeting desks are available.
For the trade days the first 20 partners to sign up will be allocated either a desk and chairs in the business meetings/trade area with a name sign or a place at the counter in the information/consumer area. All partners will have access to the hospitality area with complimentary drinks served throughout the day and a light sandwich lunch.
During the first 3 days, mainly German Trade visit the show. However, many of them only come to the stand if they have a pre-arranged appointment with our Industry partners. The last 2 days are consumer days, where both consumers and Trade will visit the fair.
